Why Donate?
In our community, approximately 27% of our preschoolers do not attend any type of formalized pre-kindergarten functions. Not surprisingly, tests show that only 43% of kids entering kindergarten in Clermont County are expected to do well with reading instruction.
Will a free tablet dramatically change these results?
“Access to, familiarity with, and skill using mobile devices are the first steps in achieving digital literacy,” according to Dr. Matilde Irigoyen, chair of pediatrics and adolescent medicine at Philadelphia’s Einstein Medical Center. However, she added that actual social engagement with parents along with parental guidance are critical to helping kids integrate digital technology into family life.
Central to the KLiCWOW approach is the concept that it will take parental engagement and support from the entire community for us to change educational outcomes in the U.S.
Parent and community engagement is the third leg of this approach. By energizing the entire community, and by providing training and on-going support to parents, the KLiCWOW project will empower everyone in the entire community to support educational outcomes for our young people.
Every fall, another cohort of our children will enter kindergarten. The parents and grandparents of these children depend on our education system to prepare them for bright futures, thriving careers, and a shot at the American Dream. We must not fail them.

What is the Clermont Chamber Foundation?
Founded in 2011, the Clermont County Chamber of Commerce Foundation is a 501(c)(3) charitable organization formed to deliver community-building activities in the Clermont area. KLiCWOW is a special community project operating under their umbrella. All donations to the Clermont County Chamber of Commerce Foundation on behalf of KLiCWOW flow directly into a restricted KLiCWOW fund that is managed solely by KLiCWOW committee volunteers. 100% of our funds and donations go to the KLiCWOW project.
